Lavender oil is one of the most widely used essential oils. It is known mostly for its soothing effect on the body. Its therapeutic properties are extremely useful for the skin and it is also used to clean scratches, bumps, and skin irritations. The scent of lavender oil is soothing and balancing – physically and mentally. To carry a bottle of lavender oil is like having a personal first aid kit.
Here are a few applications of lavender oil in everyday life:
1. Comfort and relaxation
Rub 2-3 drops of lavender oil in your hands and then massage it on the forehead, temples, feet or other body parts, for immediate calming effect.
2. Sleep problems
By inhalation and rubbing a few drops of oil on the pillow on which you sleep.
3. For treating minor burns
Put 2-3 drops of lavender oil on the burn to reduce pain, redness and swelling.
4. For a bee sting or insect bite
Drop of lavender oil will reduce itching and swelling.
5. For cuts
Lavender oil can stop the bleeding, clean the wound and kill bacteria.
6. Eczema / Dermatitis
Mix a few drops of vegetable (coconut, sesame, etc.) and lavender oil and apply on the eczema / dermatitis.
7. Nausea or motion sickness
To relieve symptoms, apply in the area behind the ears.
8. Nosebleed
To stop the blood, put a drop of lavender on a cloth and wrap around a small lump of ice. Put in the middle of the upper lip to the base of the nose and hold as long as you can or until the bleeding stops.
9. Dry or chapped skin
Rub a small amount of lavender oil on problem areas.
10. Hay Fever
Rub a drop of lavender between your palms and inhale deeply to relieve symptoms of hay fever.
11. Dandruff
Rub the scalp with a few drops of lavender oil to eliminate dandruff.
